JEDDAH, 4 Feb – The Saudi Arabian authorities have called upon the United States here to make the process easy for the entry of Saudi businessmen to the US.
Deputy Chairman of the Jeddah Trade and Industrial Council, Mazen Batterjee, was reported to have made the request yesterday in the wake of difficulties faced by the Saudi Arab business community in entering the country due to strict security precautions at airports, according to Reuters.
The request was made in a meeting with the Economic Counselor, Laird Treiber at the US Embassy here. Also present was the US Deputy Consul in Jeddah, Veronica Scarborough.
The US recently tightened security measures throughout the country at its airports, in the wake of an attempt to seize an aircraft during last Christmas.
Apart from it, both parties discussed opportunities of working together, notably in small and medium industries. |
