Establishment

YADIM is one of the agencies under the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs).

The founder/owner of YADIM is His Excellency the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The idea of its establishment was sparked by the late Tun Haji Abdul Razak bin Hussin, the second Prime Minister of Malaysia on 1 Muharam 1394, which is 25 January 1974, with the aim of coordinating the activities of dakwah bodies and NGOs so that they run in tandem and in line with national policy and become a catalyst towards the spread of dakwah in Malaysia.

YADIM is a trust registered under the Trust Incorporation Ordinance 1952 which is directly responsible to the Prime Minister. YADIM’s management began with its first President, the late Tan Sri Datuk Syed Nasir bin Ismail (Tun) and was followed by several distinguished Presidents, namely the late YBhg. Dato’ Seri Hj. Kamaruddin bin Hj. Mohd. Isa, YBh. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Yusof bin Noor (Tan Sri), YBhg. The late Tan Sri Dato’ Ainuddin bin Abdul Wahid, YBhg. Dato’ Dusuki bin Hj. Ahmad, YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Hamid bin Othman (Tan Sri), YBhg. Datuk Hj. Mohd. Nakhaie bin Hj. Ahmad, YBhg Datuk Dr Hj. Aziz Jamaludin bin Mhd Tahir, YBh. Senator Major General Dato’ Seri Jamil Khir bin Baharom (B), YBhg Senator Dato’ Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Bin Dato’ Dusuki, YBhg. Dr Yusri Mohamad and YBhg. Ustaz Nik Omar Nik Abdul Aziz and YBhg. Ustaz Nasrudin Hassan.

YADIM is currently led by His Excellency Datuk Dr. Hasan bin Bahrom.

Each President has his own ideas, approach, vision and mission in making YADIM a partner in nation building who is always willing to work with any party for the good and future of the religion, the ummah and the country.
